Norma Jean Mortenson, also called Norma Jean Baker was born in 1926 in Los Angeles. She survived a very difficult childhood and became the worlds most famous sex symbol. Marilyn started her successful career as a model and signed her first movie contract in 1946. She got a new image, dyed her hair blonde and Marilyn Monroe was born. Her career took off in 1950, when she played a small part in the crime drama “The Asphalt Jungle” and the part as Claudia Caswell in “All about Eve”, where Betty Davis was starring. With many successful movies, her signature breathy voice and hourglass figure, she became a international star. In 1959 she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a comedy for the role as the singer Sugar Kane Kowalczyk in “Some Like it Hot”. The last movie she finished was “The Misfits” (1961) where she played against Clarke Gable. Her life and career started to get complicated and she was dismissed from “Something’s Got to Give” because she had missed to many days of filming. Marilyn has a long history with bad relationships and there where rumors that she was involved with the President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy.

On August 5, 1962 she was found dead in her home in L.A. with a empty bottle of sleeping pills by her side. The cause of death was officially ruled as a drug overdose, but there has been speculations over the years that she may have been killed.

She is famous for her sexy, womenly curves. She wore dresses in size 12 and always wore clothes that highlighted her curves, like the pencil skirt. Her favorite colors was red, black, beige, cream and white, and she mostly wore clothes in those colors. Marilyn always added a feminine touch to her outfits and used to wear a lot of accessories, like bows and diamonds.
